CREATIVITY COACH

Creativity is not a talent reserved for the select few—it is our NATURAL STATE.

For the most part, my songwriting coaching sessions look like you'd expect. We puzzle over lyrics. We refine melodies. We add power to chord changes. But over the years I couldn't help but notice: huge swaths of my songwriting coaching time aren't about songwriting at all — or even music.

Songwriters came to me asking about lyrics when what they really wanted to discuss was an unprocessed creative disappointment.

Songwriters came to me asking about their chorus when what they really wanted to solve was a dearth of new creative ideas.

Songwriters, more than they needed songwriting support, needed creative health support.

I became more and more obsessed with this: the idea that underlying most creative struggles, not to mention most life struggles, is poor creative health. I started offering creative health support directly, not just to songwriters but to painters and poets and actors. Ultimately I started supporting the creative health of not just "artists" but of health care workers, coaches, executives, educators, and teams.

Now I'm so happy that my truest obsession, creativity, is not just the underscore but the laser focus of my work.

ONE-On-one creativity coaching

Creativity Coach Rachel Efron

One-on-one sessions allow us to nurture your creativity exactly where it needs it the most. We'll often start with questions: What in your creative life is working for you? What are your creative goals? Why are you seeking support at this moment? Then we'll get into the specifics of the creative life you have thus far lived and the creative life you are calling in with this choice to seek coaching.

Sometimes people come to me with specific projects — I've helped writers draft books and photographers plan photo series. But other times people come to me with only the brave hope for creative fulfillment. Either way, we move you methodically and gorgeously toward the creative life that is yours to live.

speaking and workshops

Whenever there are two or more people in a room — creativity longs to be born.

My love of one-on-one coaching is matched only by my love of group work. In the past year alone, I have served groups of health care workers, administrators, coaches, self-identified dreamers, academics, and musicians. What strikes me again and again is that creativity is needed exactly everywhere — whatever your team does, creative health will help.

Recent engagements include:

  • UCSF Medical — San Francisco, CA

  • Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute — Berkeley, CA

  • Berkeley Jazzschool — Berkeley, CA

  • Academy of Management

  • Delphic Dreaming: Prophecies and Precognition — Delphi, Greece

MUZI PRACTITIONER CERTIFICATION

One of my most exciting realizations of the past year is that the Muzi methodology doesn't just belong in an app — it belongs in the hands of coaches, therapists, facilitators, and leaders who can bring it directly to the people they serve.

The Muzi Practitioner Certification is a six-session training program in which I share everything I've developed over fifteen years of creativity coaching: the philosophy, the methodology, the practices, and the practical wisdom for bringing it to clients in both individual and group settings. Graduates receive a Muzi Practitioner certificate and one year of access to the Muzi Practitioner resource library.

The program is currently in its founding pilot cohort — launching October 2026. If this speaks to you, I'd love to hear from you.

Resourcing for creativity

An all-new creativity miniseries featuring stories, insights, and exercises to help you call more creativity into your life.

Creativity is our natural state. If we are not creating, it means only that we have not yet resourced for creativity.

TESTIMONIALS

I love Muzi’s personalization and range of features! The Creativity Assessment was insightful and spot on, but even better is that it gives you a custom path to take your work and creative health to the next level. With Muzi’s help, I wrote my first poem after over a year of feeling stuck and timid with my writing. —Ruby Spies, NYC, NY

"Muzi is a stand-out -- both playful and soulful, and chock full of ideas and guidance. Its creator, Rachel Efron, is a song-whisperer, creativity coach, writer, and producer. The Creativity Assessment was spot on accurate, and I took it several times! Muzi is a modern day "The Artist's Way"-- but utterly positive, inspiring and fun. It's like having a fairy godmother cheerleader coach in your pocket!" —Jennifer Greer, Berkeley, CA

I think my favorite thing about Muzi is that it helps us, as writers, think about our entire lives as a creative act, with lots of specific exercises and writing prompts that help us open up and recognize that we’re constantly being creative and are allowed to be creative and find creativity in every aspect of our lives. —Nancy Lake, Lafayette, CA

I’ve long wanted a book from songwriter and coach Rachel Efron, and here she gave us something even better. Belongs alongside ‘The Artist’s Way’ & ‘Big Magic.’ —Melanie Chopko, Asheville, NC

"Muzi is exactly what I needed to bring out my creativity! I had always put writing and music on the back burner because I didn’t know where or how to find the spark — Muzi finally changed that narrative. Now that I have a road map going forward, I’m bursting with creative potential. Thank you Muzi for being the partner I always needed on my creative journey!." —Frank Kladis, Chicago, IL

"Muzi brought into focus what I want to work on for the next year. Now I'm centering the things I'm most passionate about! I’ve never seen a methodology that combines a business life coach with creativity… and then adds a meditation to help you reflect on it all. I love my Spark — I’m going to print it and hang it on my wall!" —Beth Cloutier, Pinole, CA

An incredible toolkit for restoring and sustaining your creativity! I’ve been looking for a structured program like this for years. So grateful for Muzi!! —Danielle Ryce, Portland, OR

This is an amazing tool not only to inspire creativity but to help sustain it. Couldn’t recommend it more highly to anyone that needs inspiration to start or follow through on their creative work. I’m using it to help design a nonprofit model but it can be used for anything - think I will use it to support my writing in the future. —Sandra Seru, Newton, MA
